Network expansion by Akasa Air strengthens domestic connectivity, with increased flight frequencies from Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata, and new direct connections from Jaipur, Udaipur and Chandigarh.
India’s low-cost carrier Akasa Air has crossed the milestone of 200 daily departures as it strengthens its domestic network and international presence. The airline has increased flight frequencies across key metropolitan cities while introducing new connections to improve accessibility for travellers across India.
As part of its latest expansion, Akasa Air has raised its operations from Delhi to 196 weekly departures, connecting the national capital directly to 14 cities. The airline now operates one daily flight between Delhi and Visakhapatnam, along with two additional daily flights to Mumbai and one additional daily flight each to Bengaluru and Goa.
The network expansion by Akasa Air also brings new connectivity for travellers from Rajasthan and Chandigarh. The airline has commenced daily direct services from Jaipur and Udaipur to Bengaluru and Mumbai. Chandigarh has also been connected to Bengaluru and Goa through daily direct flights, opening up additional travel options for passengers from these cities.
In southern India, Bengaluru has emerged as a significant operational hub, offering direct connectivity to 19 domestic destinations and three international destinations: Abu Dhabi, Phuket and Jeddah. Akasa Air has also increased its operations from Kochi and Kozhikode in Kerala, adding domestic and international capacity from Kozhikode.
Eastern India has witnessed a boost in connectivity, with Kolkata operations increasing to 95 weekly departures and direct services to eight destinations. The airline has also established a crew base in Kolkata to support its growing operations.
On high-demand domestic routes, Akasa Air now operates six daily flights between Mumbai and Delhi, in addition to one daily service between Navi Mumbai and Delhi. The airline also operates five daily flights between Bengaluru and Delhi, alongside two daily flights between Delhi and Kolkata, with departures scheduled in the morning and evening.
Commenting on the airline’s growth, Anand Srinivasan, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, said the company had identified an opportunity to build a significant airline in one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets when it launched four years ago. He noted that the airline’s growth strategy focuses on increasing frequencies in markets experiencing rising demand, strengthening connections between major economic centres and emerging destinations, and gradually expanding its international footprint.
Srinivasan added that the airline’s approach extends beyond increasing capacity, with an emphasis on convenient schedules, greater choice and a warm, dependable flying experience. As it continues to scale its operations, Akasa Air aims to balance disciplined growth with service excellence while contributing to India’s expanding aviation sector.
The latest network expansion by Akasa Air reflects its strategy of strengthening connections across major cities and emerging markets while broadening its international reach. For travel agents and tour operators, the additional frequencies and direct connections offer more options when planning itineraries for domestic travellers and passengers exploring international destinations.
