Lufthansa Group is expanding flights to key Indian cities for Summer 2027, creating additional options for travel agents handling Europe-bound leisure, corporate and connecting passengers.
Travel agents planning Europe-bound itineraries for summer 2027 will have more flight options to offer as Lufthansa Group expands its Indian network with additional services to Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai. The India – Germany connectivity increase with Lufthansa Airlines forms part of the Group’s largest network expansion since 2020, with new long-haul routes and increased frequencies across its global network.
Lufthansa’s Summer 2027 schedule, available for booking from 20 October 2026, includes a second seasonal service between Munich and Delhi from 28 March 2027. The additional flight will be operated by an Airbus A350-900, increasing options for passengers travelling between northern India and Germany. The airline will also add frequencies from Frankfurt to Hyderabad and Chennai, alongside additional services to Bengaluru from Munich. Meanwhile, SWISS will retain its Zurich–Bengaluru service, introduced during the winter schedule, with five weekly flights throughout summer.
For travel agents and tour operators, the India – Germany connectivity increase with Lufthansa Airlines offers greater flexibility when building itineraries around European holidays, business meetings and international events. Additional flights can provide more departure options during peak summer travel, while connections through Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich give agents more scope to plan onward journeys across Europe and beyond. However, specific connection times and availability will depend on the selected itinerary.
The expanded schedule also supports agents handling corporate travel and premium leisure bookings, particularly where travellers need to coordinate arrival times with meetings, conferences or fixed hotel stays. Tour operators can use the broader network to develop packages combining Germany with other European destinations, subject to available connections and fares.
The Group’s wider Summer 2027 expansion extends beyond India. Lufthansa will introduce Frankfurt–Tokyo Narita services daily from 28 March and resume seasonal Frankfurt–Nagoya flights three times weekly from 29 March. New intercontinental routes include Frankfurt–Columbus, Ohio, from 5 May and Munich–Phoenix from 3 August. Discover Airlines will also launch Frankfurt–Edmonton flights from 1 June, while ITA Airways plans to introduce Rome–Caracas services from 30 March.
For the travel trade, these network changes provide an opportunity to refresh summer brochures, review flight combinations and offer customers more routing choices. Agents should check live schedules, fare conditions and seat availability when building quotations, as services remain subject to operational changes.
With India featuring prominently in its expansion plans, Lufthansa Group is strengthening its position in a market that serves both business and leisure travel. The additional capacity gives agents more options to match itineraries to client requirements during the busy summer season.
