Preferred Hotels & Resorts Expands Its Luxury Footprint with 11 New Legend Collection Properties

Preferred Hotels & Resorts

From The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary in India to heritage hotels and destination resorts across global markets, the latest additions reflect the changing face of luxury travel by Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

Luxury hospitality is increasingly being shaped by hotels that offer a strong sense of place, from restored heritage properties and private island retreats to forest sanctuaries and destination-led resorts. Reflecting this evolution, Preferred Hotels & Resorts has expanded its Legend Collection with 11 properties joining the portfolio during 2026.

The latest additions span Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, taking the Legend Collection to more than 125 hotels and resorts worldwide. Together, the new properties reflect a wider interpretation of luxury, bringing together cultural immersion, nature, personalised service and distinctive design.

“The latest additions to our Legend Collection reflect this shift while sharing the distinctive character that make each of them a legendary hotel,” said Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. According to Ueberroth, today’s luxury travellers are increasingly looking for stays shaped around their individual interests, whether that means connecting with nature, exploring local heritage, discovering new culinary experiences or experiencing a city from a different perspective.

Heritage-led stays form one of the key themes among the new additions. Dusit Thani Bangkok brings Thai design, rituals and hospitality to its contemporary luxury offering, building on its more than 70-year history as a Bangkok landmark. In Fès, Palais Jamaï Fès is set to open in October 2026 following the restoration of a late 19th-century palace overlooking the historic city. Serras Sevilla, which opened in September, places guests in the heart of Seville, offering access to the city’s architecture, gastronomy and Andalusian culture.

India also gets a significant mention in the latest expansion with The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary joining the Legend Collection. Set across 76 acres of ancient forest in the Western Ghats, the Madikeri property offers a nature-led luxury experience rooted in Coorg’s biodiversity, culture and slower pace of life. For Indian travel advisors, the addition strengthens the portfolio’s offering for travellers looking beyond conventional luxury city and beach stays, particularly those seeking immersive forest retreats, wellness, wildlife and experiential holidays closer to home.

In Nevada, Edgewood Tahoe Resort combines lakeside luxury with mountain landscapes and outdoor experiences, while its LEED Silver certification adds a sustainability dimension to the stay.

The collection’s urban additions are equally focused on creating experiences beyond conventional city accommodation. San Clemente Palace Venice occupies its own island in the Venetian Lagoon, combining the city’s heritage with the privacy of a secluded resort. In Lisbon, MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites in the Baixa Pombalina district introduces a more intimate stay, including its Golden Sleeves butler service, which can be tailored to individual guest preferences.

In Barcelona, BLESS Hotel Barcelona brings together design, fashion, gastronomy and culture on Passeig de Gràcia, while BLESS Ibiza The Site combines contemporary luxury with the island’s creative and lifestyle-driven character. Charleston’s The Cooper takes a distinctly Southern approach, with waterfront views and design that connect the property to the historic character of the city.

The expansion also reflects the emergence of new destination-led resorts, particularly in the Middle East. Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah is scheduled to open in spring 2027 and will introduce a 70-storey resort tower with more than 1,500 accommodations, over 20 dining venues, a beach club, private marina, gardens and pools.

The 11 properties joining the Legend Collection in 2026 are BLESS Hotel Barcelona and BLESS Ibiza The Site in Spain; Dusit Thani Bangkok in Thailand; Edgewood Tahoe Resort in Nevada, USA; MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites in Lisbon, Portugal; Palais Jamaï Fès in Morocco; San Clemente Palace Venice in Italy; Serras Sevilla in Spain; The Cooper in Charleston, USA; The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary in Madikeri, India; and Wynn Al Marjan Island in the UAE.

With the latest additions, Preferred Hotels & Resorts is broadening the definition of what a luxury stay can offer—from heritage and local culture to wilderness, privacy, design and destination-led experiences.
